Furneux Pelham Parish Council Minutes of Meeting On Thursday 10th March 2005 At 8pm Furneux Pelham Village Hall Present Messer's Cantes, Hagger, Pigg, James, Watson and Parish Clerk. Apologies for absence Mr Hadley Minutes of Last Meeting The Chairman, with approval of the members present, signed the minutes as accurate and correct. Matters Arising from Last Meeting No letter regarding the car park has been drawn up as yet. Mr Cantes and Mr Hadley still to meet to discuss. The Noise Abatement Hearing which was listed for Pallets Unlimited on 3rd February 2005 has now been adjourned until 28th and 29th April 2005. Thank you to Rosmarie Rosier for emptying the bin by the Bus Shelter, a new key has been ordered. Mr James has given leaflets to the residents of the Brewery regarding the Flood Plan. Letter has been sent to Highways Department regarding the state of the roads in the village. Thank you to Mr Hadley and Mr James for their efforts regarding Footpaths. Finances have been finished and sent off to Lubbock Fine. Mr Cantes to sort gratuity. The East of England meeting was attended by the Parish Council and are willing to fight against development. Chair to write a letter of objection by 16th but still awaiting info from EHDC. Mrs Welsh is willing to help with the Village of the Year, but will need to have some new initiatives. The ideas the Parish Council came up with were about the new playground scheme, footpaths, cricket training and neighbourhood watch. More community ideas would be appreciated. Correspondence Stop Stansted Expansion are willing to provide a presentation to the village regarding the changes which would occur with the Stansted Expansion. Clerk to arrange all details. Highways As detailed before letter has been sent to Highways regarding poor state of repairs. Finance Clerks salary and expenses. £121.84 Review Maintenance Tasks After a review of the maintenance tasks to be carried out by the Parish Council, it was stated that £430 was needed to keep on top of all problems. Tasks will be looked at and rotated so all repairs etc. are tackled on a bi-yearly basis. Footpaths Survey of the rights of way network is now complete. Mr James and Mr Hadley will be meeting with Angela Forster from the Countryside Management Service on 22 March to draw up a work schedule for 2005/6 (for which we have been allocated £1000). Mr Hadley plan to distribute copies of the survey and the work schedule to footpath volunteers and other interested parties before the end of March. Playground Sarah Wright has contacted Greene King with regards to land they own that might be suitable for a village playground. Thanks to her persistence, the company has now said they are keen to discuss the matter with the Parish Council, and a Mr Martin Page has undertaken to call Mr Hadley in the near future. Crimewatch Bogus callers have been reported collecting at doors stating they are from MacMillan Nurses. Electric fence unit stolen.
